2024 Five new parks in LHI's portfolio
13 parks connected to the grid in 2024
With the solar parks in Steenfeld (Schleswig Holstein) and Badem/Gindorf (Rhineland-Palatinate) as well as the solar parks with storage facilities in Letschin (Brandenburg), Gammertingen (Baden-Württemberg), and Lübars (Saxony-Anhalt), LHI 2024 has added five new plants to its portfolio. The most recent addition is the solar park in Lübars with a nominal output of around 12.0 MWp and a storage capacity of 8.4 MWh. The park was awarded the contract in the Federal Network Agency’s innovation tender for solar with storage and also benefits from a five-year power purchase agreement with a major electricity supplier in the DACH region.
The solar parks in Lippstadt-Herringhausen (North Rhine-Westphalia) and the wind farm in Freienohl (North Rhine-Westphalia) were acquired in 2023, as were the solar parks in Ficary and Schoenacker in the Netherlands. These parks went online in 2024 or are still to go online. Also in 2023, a portfolio of solar parks was financed through a subordinated loan, with the last nine parks being connected to the grid this year.
According to estimates, the electricity produced annually by the 2024 newly acquired plants and the 2024 additional plants connected to the grid can supply around 79,000 two-person households and save around 82,000 tons of CO2 per year.
The wind and solar parks were purchased for various institutional funds managed by LHI. LHI now has a total of 79 solar parks with a total nominal output of 692 MWp and 36 wind parks with a total nominal output of 522 MW in its portfolio.
Renewable energies are currently a sensible investment for institutional investors’ portfolios due to their current returns.
